(SOUND RADIO)

LOCAL NEWS - CARNIVAL
Marc:
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, we are in Sant Fost’s high school,
INS Alba del Vallès, and we are going to report you the contest of the
Carnival 2012.
Ricard:
At the moment, the second level is performing their choreography and
they are doing it very well. They are dancing “I’m sexy and I know it”
and I think they are going to win first block’s award.
Ferran: The jury is deliberating… And we have a winner! The winner is… The second level!
David: They are going to “Isla fantasia” next month! They are very happy!
Marc: And now it’s time to see the fourth level performance.
Ricard:
Ah… I think we have the second winner of the contest but we have to see
another performance of the first level of “batxillerat”.
Ferran: Well… I think they won’t win… I don’t know, I think that they have chosen the wrong topic.
Marc: The jury is deliberating once again… And the winner is… The fourth level!
David: And that’s all! We will continue reporting another day with more fresh news.
Ricard: Bye bye!
- That’s all with the local news, now it’s time for the national news:

NATIONAL NEWS - STRIKE
CCOO and UGT are planning the strike for all the different education fields, from public to private.
The public education's strike is planned for May the 22nd and it has extended to all the education community. The trade unions CCOO and UGT, with majority of representation in the educational sectors, have extended the call done by all the educational trade unions in primary and secondary.
"The groups called are the teaching staff and all the rest of the staff of all public schools, semi-private and private schools, PAS staff (administration and services), staff of the educational extra activities of the public schools and private schools, education of 0 to 3 years and universities", specify CCOO.
Too, the “Plataforma Unitària en Defensa de la Universitat Pública” (PUDUP) has announced today that it joins to the call of the 22nd of May strike which will suppose the 4th Catalan university strike in the last six months.
- And now, last but not least, it’s time to move to worldwide, international news:
(SOUND RADIO)

WORLDWIDE NEWS : VOSTOK LAKE
Ricard: Hello, we are in Antarctica and we are excited to explain a hot scientific news which will you feel astonished.
Ferran: Russian scientists have finally drilled into an enormous freshwater lake that’s hidden nearly 4km under the Antarctic ice sheet.
David: It is the first time that humans have ever actually made contact with Lake Vostok, which is thought to contain life-forms that existed before the Ice Age. On the other hand, some scientists think that the extreme pressure and cold in the lake will make it very hard for anything to survive there.
Marc: There are over 400 lakes beneath the ice and glaciers in Antarctica, but Vostok is the largest of them. It is around 1,300km away from the South Pole, and Russian engineers had to drill down through 3,769m of ice before they hit the lake.
David: The water in the lake is kept from freezing because the ice sheet overhead insulates it and keeps heat in the lake. When the drill reached the lake, the water pressure forced water back up the borehole, which then froze. The Russian scientists will return when the weather is better so that they can remove this frozen plug and examine its contents.
Ferran: The researchers hope to collect more water samples from Lake Vostok, as well as sediment from the bottom of the lake. It is hoped that this will provide clues about previous conditions on Earth.
Ricard: That's all, we'll continue informing with new hot news. Visit our website for more information.
